Trachelospermum is a close cousin to \u003ca title=\"amsonia\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plantdelights.sbs\/collections\/amsonia\"\u003eamsonia\u003c\/a\u003e, mandevilla, vinca, and oleander. You can see the family resemblance in the pinwheel-like white or yellow, butterfly-attracting flowers which have a fused tube of petals that splits and flares out into wide-spreading lobes.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSome species, including the popular southern vine \u003cem\u003eT. jasminoides,\u003c\/em\u003e have powerfully fragrant flowers and can fill the air with a fruity, perfume scent in late spring and summer.
