Our oldest specimen has been in the ground for 20+ years, and has formed an architecturally fascinating (a code word for not neat and tidy) specimen. The branches are clothed with glossy green, non-spiny foliage, and further laden, staring for us around early February, with short spikes of bright yellow flowers, worthy of votes for the most overwhelmingly sweet perfume in existence. We've never noticed any winter damage, despite 7 degrees F. Full to part sun is fine. A mature specimen will reach 7' tall x 7' wide.
