Our offering is seed propagated from the property of plantswoman Barbara Hall in coastal Gloucester County, Virginia. Orontium aquaticum thrives in both muck and shallow water, where it forms a stunning hosta-like clump of wide green leaves. In early spring, the plants are adorned with odd flowers that look like a bunch of white bong pipes, each with a yellow mouthpiece...enjoy it in the garden, but please don't take a hit, since aroids contain a bit too much oxalic acid for a pleasant experience. Experiments have shown that Orontium growth greatly increases with higher CO2 and methane levels, so stock up now on what's likely to be an even greater plant in the future.

Watch our Plant Spotlight video for more information.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1527/8799/files/Orontium-aquaticum-Tidewater.i-13045.s-66239.r-1.jpg?v=1790000095
