Deam in Harrison County, Indiana. Plants were sent to the Montreal Botanical Garden for safe-keeping, and formally described by the gardens' Dr. Raymond in a 1948 issue of Rhodora. Podophyllum peltatum forma deamii look like typical mayapples, except for the pink flowers and bright red fruit, which is typically chartreuse yellow. The foliage also is heavily flushed with brown when it emerges, but this trait can also be found in the typical yellow-fruited forms. In rich, moist soils, this spring ephemeral can form rather large patches, spreading from thick underground rhizomes. We are pleased to name this special cultivar Podophyllum peltatum 'Marcel Raymond' in his honor.\u003c\/p\u003e ","brand":"Plant Delights Nursery","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":39536676438103,"sku":"16855","price":34.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1527\/8799\/files\/Podophyllum-peltatum-f-deamii-Marcel-Raymond.i-16855.s-67473.r-1.jpg?v=1772140042","url":"https:\/\/www.plantdelights.sbs\/products\/podophyllum-peltatum-f-deamii-marcel-raymond","provider":"Plant Delights Nursery","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
