Sabal 'Lisa' is most certainly a polyploid mutant, since it produces much thicker, and less divided, less costapalmate, less filiferous leaves than typical Sabal palmetto. In propagation trials by palm guru Scott Zona, it produces 68% true to type offspring, and the remainder typical Sabal palmetto. With age, Sabal palmetto 'Lisa' will eventually reach 30' in height.
